Chloe eau de parfum

Posted in fragrance with tags , on December 13, 2008 by LPB

Feminine, elegant, natural, sexy, with heart notes of magnolia, lily of the valley and rose petals. Chloé Eau de Parfum is created with a mix of natural and couture materials.

The bottle is made with genuine silver plating and graced with a finishing touch – a hand-tied ribbon.

This unique example of craftsmanship and sublime rose scent perfectly capture the house of Chloé spirit, effortless chic and femininity.

Chloé Eau de Parfum is a vibrant, feminine fragrance with starting notes of peony, lychee and freesia. It features base notes blend rose, magnolia and lily of the valley, as well as amber and cedarwood.

It is described as “a fresh and feminine fragrance with an utterly innate sense of chic.”

I find it nice but plain; it lacks character & tenacity.

The rose scent is not overwhelming, does not smells powdery or dated; however, there is not much orchestration from the freesia, magnolia or lily, which makes this a rather dull rosy perfume that’s light enough to wear daily but lacks the depth for becoming a classic.

Tom Ford White Patchouli

With its sensuous core of patchouli, Tom Ford White Patchouli perfectly captures the myth of a generation. Surrounded by sleek wood notes, tempered by elegant white flowers, this modern fragrance with retro-classic influences is a sophisticated interpretation of bohemian chic.

Topnotes: peony, bergamot, coriander

Middle notes: jasmine, rose absolute, ambrette seed

Basenotes: patchouli, blonde woods, and incense.

It’s a very smooth perfume with a muted incense note. It’s lightly earthy and middling dark, very chic & sensual.

It’s a clean & sophisticated perfume that makes me wanna get dirty & naughty, like the innocent looking pina colada .

I am gonna wear this during my night shift.

Chanel’s Beige

From Chanel’s press release…on Beige:
“I take refuge in beige because it’s natural,” said Mademoiselle Chanel. Sandy beige, honey beige, clay beige, whitish beige… She loved all shades of this colour, which evokes natural elegance and grace. An elusive colour with infinite variations, beige may seem quite ordinary. And yet, behind this apparent simplicity, it hides a discreet sensuality that builds slowly before revealing itself fully.

This sensual outburst is interpreted by Jacques Polge through a bouquet of hawthorn, freesia and frangipani, with shimmering hints of honey. A stunning blend of white petals and yellow gold…in other words, a breath of Beige.”

On you go Beige, to my wish list!

Henri Robert saw CRISTALLE, the fragrance he created in 1974, as the forerunner in a new generation of fresh, youthful fragrances: transparent, intimate, never too heady but always subtly present.

The tool of hypnotists, healers and magicians, crystal has long been associated with the unconscious borderline between the seen and the unseen. Coco Chanel viewed crystal as one of the finest examples of a combination of opposites: it is a stone, yet you can see through it. Some believe you can read your future in it. Naturally superstitious, Coco Chanel thought it had creative powers.

Fragrance Family

Fresh, floral. A melody of Citrus, Honeysuckle and Hyacinth notes.

CRISTALLE launches with sparkling Lemon from Sicily meeting the green and flowery notes of Water Hyacinth and Honeysuckle, followed by the woody charm of Vetiver.

Cristalle was my 1st fragrance, it reminds me of my youth, my good old days.

EL sensuous

A modern new definition of sensuality. Confident and elegant.

A rich sensuous core of Molten Woods and Amber, surrounded by atmospheric florals, Pepper, Mandarin Orange Pulp and Honey.

Estée Lauder Sensuous
Every woman wears it her way.

Fragrance Type: Woody Amber

From the minute it touches a woman’s skin, Estée Lauder Sensuous becomes a natural reflection of her. Her grace, confidence and charm.

Subtly different on each woman who wears it, the rich, mysterious core of Molten Woods and glowing Amber pulses with a warm, luminous, feminine passion.

Enveloping this molten core of precious woods comes the unexpected scent of atmospheric flowers; feminine and airy. A veil of petal-soft textures: sheer Jasmine, Ghost Lily, lush Magnolia and an exclusive Ylang essence.

Captivating traces of Black Pepper add mystery to the delicious woodiness and sensuality of creamy Sandalwood.

Addictive Honey enhances the warmth, lingering deep within the fragrance while a surprising hint of Mandarin Orange Pulp creates a touch of juiciness to tantalize the senses.

Lingering far after she’s gone, a celebration of a woman in full possession of her powers.

I adore  woody, spicy fragrances, so this is gonna be on my list.

EL pure white linen light breeze

Sparkling. Refreshing. Vibrant. A fragrance that lingers in your senses for hours –

Wet Citrus notes of luscious Bergamot, Orange Zest and White Grapefruit combine with Darjeeling Tea, colorful florals and sheer woods.

Top Notes: Sparkling Breeze Accords
Signature accents comprised of Darjeeling Tea blended with mesmerizing citrus accents of Bergamot, Orange Zest and White Grapefruit suggest a youthful and effervescent freshness. Watery Kumquat enhances the freshness with a modern and delectable fruitiness.

Middle Notes: Vibrant Breeze Accords
The floral heart is a blend of radiant Yellow Freesia petals entwined in Osmanthus, Linden Flowers and a veil of silken Rose petals, to embellish the signature freshness.

Dry Down: Lingering Breeze Accords
Luxurious Teak Wood fused with Cedarwood and a Soft Skin Accord provide sensuality, richness and a lingering impression to the background. A drop of precious Acacia Honey brings a sense of luxurious softness.

I still remember my days of spraying the original white linen into my dryer while drying my bed linens – it leaves a mesmerizing aroma ( hybrid of clean, elegant & sexy scent ) between the sheets.

Unfortunately,  pure white linen light breeze had lost these undertones; Its fresh & vibrant, but not chic or sensual enough. If the original white linen is a 400 count egyptian cotton lingered with freshly showered skin accord, pure white linen  light breeze would be a polyester sheet laundered with washing power.

Chanel sycomore

Posted in fragrance with tags , , on June 27, 2008 by LPB

This vetiver-focused fragrance includes notes of sandalwood, cypress, juniper and pink pepper.

Chanel Sycomore is a classic, and classy, take on vetiver. Sycomore was created by Jacques Polge and contains top-quality vetiver, sandalwood, cypress, juniper and pink pepper. Sycomore starts with savory vetiver and a glimmer of sandalwood, then comes an almost edible-smelling, nutty turn, and finally the fragrance darkens as cypress comes to the fore –

I am so trying out this when i m in Sydney.

Tuscan Leather

Posted in fragrance with tags , , on May 6, 2008 by LPB

Tom Ford ‘Private Blend’ consists of twelve unisex fragrances, each developed with a back to basics approach. Instead of a plethora of top, heart and base notes, the idea behind each fragrance is to focus on a single top note, enhanced and complemented by a small handful of secondary notes. Tuscan Leather has a top note of leather, complemented by black suede, amberwood and night-blooming jasmine. Inspired by the rich brown glass of apothecary bottles used by parfumier’s of old, they come in two sizes: the 50ml flacon – architectural and functional – or the sizeable and weighty 250ml decanter. –

A chypre blend of notes brings a raw, yet reserved sensuality to this original take on a classic leather scent. Saffron, Raspberry and Thyme open to Olibanum and Night Blooming Jasmine. Leather, Black Suede and Amberwood add an intricate richness.-

Tuscan Leather, is husky & warm. Its tarry smokiness is twisted with citrus-fresh raspberry note, before the peppery sharpness of incense & powdery sweetness of jasmine emerge, then finished off with the rawness of suede  & sexiness of amberwood.

As  EDP, it is long lasting and lingers with a sophisticated sillage. ( However, it has been rumored to resemble cocaine ).
I spend AUD$275 on the 50 mls EDP, i guess this is still cheaper than 50g of coke, right? Needless to say, i am head over heel on this nocturnal & notorious fragrance; It’s my signature scent and i am going to express my rebellious by wearing it during daylight hours!
